The People of ARCC

The people of ARCC are versatile individuals- from software engineers and industrial product designers to machining and marketing experts, what makes ARCC a hub for innovation and excellence is the varied expertise that these professionals bring and can share with each other’s projects. Indeed, since opening its doors nine years ago, ARCC has attracted some of the most technically capable and commercially-savvy minds in British design, who, finding a conducive working environment in ARCC, have gone on to much success and renown within the national and international design community.

Their work speaks for itself, but some of the people behind ARCC have also given their thoughts on what makes this place special:

David Evans and Ashley May - Creative Directors (Studio 17 and Node-Audio)

ARCC offers amazing facilities, a lovely working environment, and the opportunity to work with other very-talented people. Having access to 3D printing technology has been incredibly useful for prototyping purposes as we are able to put a physical prototype in the hand of a client as well as a visual representation. I would like to see more new businesses come on site which we can learn from and maybe collaborate with in future.”- David.

“It’s quite unique to be on a site where you’ve got different companies working right alongside each other, sharing information, sharing technologies and ideas, and I think that benefits everyone. I think ARCC really does give us the confidence to pursue new ideas where we otherwise would have perhaps held back: it’s helped our business grow.”- Ashley.

Gary Dearmer - Electronics and Software Engineer (ARCC Bikes)

ARCC is engineering excellence- ARCC is about design and engineering and working together with different technologies.”- Gary.

Kelly Sant and Arash Kaynama - Co-Founders (Mannequino/Piolucent/Invisivisor)

ARCC is a sanctuary for those of us in the world who are passionate about design, invention, engineering, and manufacturing. Being at ARCC and being supported in all the areas we have been supported in has allowed us to make a success of the business and to break in to the market, which just at times seemed so impossible, and their support has enabled us to make that happen.”- Kelly.

“Business is more than making money. It’s about investing in the future, investing in the people that make the future, and I think that this place is exemplary of that notion.”- Arash.

Anthony Waite - Product Designer (A Waite Design/Freelance)

“One of the advantages for me of working at ARCC is that I have access to all their rapid prototyping facilities and machining facilities, so it means that myself as a designer can take an initial concept from a sketch, all way through to CAD and then to rapid prototyping and then to manufacture so I get to see and be involved at every stage of the design process.”- Anthony.
